Airdrie Public Library Solo show in 2 weeks!

The Airdrie Public Library has been good to me over the years, I have had the chance to teach, show in solo and group shows as well as speak publicly about art making. Veronica is an excellent Arts and Culture Coordinator who brings a lot of heart and personal knowledge to the role. She is great to work with planning upcoming shows and events. 

On August 25th, my solo show opens there. It has been in the works for well over a year and is a real exploration of my path as an artist... where I came from and where I am going.. Instead of just creating new work, I deliberately placed myself into new experiences in order to grow as an artist, think about why I practice my art in the way that I do and to challenge myself to break down barriers. Sometimes that has been hard. 

More often it has been deeply rewarding. I have made so many new friends in this part of the journey as well as seen a lot of change in myself. Now that this chapter has started to wind up, I'm nervously embracing my next steps.
