Post Operation Update

1/15/2018

This is an update by Michelle's husband so this will be neither funny nor quirky. Michelle gets full permission to overwrite this whole post with a much more thoughtful one once she is fully functional. In fact, having just got stuck trying write a third sentence I've decided to do the rest of this in bullet points. Like seriously Michelle you will need to delete this post and re-do it properly.
  • The surgery was successful. They couldn't quite fully eliminate Sally, and left about a millimeter of her behind. So we will have to watch that, but for the foreseeable future at least she is essentially tumor free.
  • Michelle woke up with all her faculties intact. She is lucid, with all of her cognitive abilities fully available to her. We haven't checked how good of an artist she is yet but I guess we'll see. She shows no signs of suddenly liking hockey, and if she gained any superpowers, they haven't yet had a chance to manifest. But we're keeping our fingers crossed.
  • Her surgeon advised her to not drink too much water and prescribed Coke and Salt & Vinegar chips. #bestdoc"torever
  • She doesn't yet have a room, and is spending the night in the Recovery area. So that's less than perfect. On the plus side she's within 12 feet of about 6 nurses at any given time.
  • One of her nurses is Celiac and has set her up with appropriate gluten free options. That's a nice bonus that she doesn't have to explain "no really this is an allergy, not an affectation. You need to be really really sure it's completely gluten free."
Whelp that's it for me. Time to publish.  #firstdraft #noproofreading

Great support act Phil! But seriously - delighted to hear the good news! You two should consider doing a double act once Sally has left the nest for good! Give Michelle my best wishes!
